Cub Scout Pack 11

New Blue and Gold Date - 04/03/2008

Dear Pack 11 Cubs and Parents:

Due to last Friday's snow day, we were forced to reschedule our planned Blue and Gold Banquet.

The new date for our rescheduled Blue and Gold Banquet will be Thursday night, April 3rd from 6:30 p.m. until 8pm. The location is the Wickliffe Gym. Wickliffe is closed the following Friday (4/4), so while not actually a Friday night, this is still a "no-school-next-day" night for the boys. As before, dens should arrive for table set-up about 6:15 p.m.

The events will be the same..we will have great Chinese food from Peking House, Webelos graduation and Arrow of Light presentations, pack awards, etc...food, fun and friendship!

RSVP procedures: Due to the new date and the busy schedules of our pack families, we will circulate a new Evite which you should use to let us know how many from your family can attend. Please watch your inbox for this NEW Evite. Please respond to the new Evite even if you responded before...we need a new head count to purchase an appropriate amount of food.

It is our sincere hope that as many families as possible can attend on the new date. Rescheduling options were very limited for an event of this size. There were no Friday nights available at Wickliffe for the remainder of the school year. Use of the building on weekends is difficult and requires hiring overtime custodians...not a good prospect.

Many thanks to Pack Committee Chair Caryn Kanel, Sheila Millard at Wickliffe, Sharmini Shanker (Blue and Gold Chair) and Lissa Wade for their help in sorting out a new time for the Blue and Gold.

Blue and Gold Cancelled - We Will Reschedule

Due to school closings on 2/22, the Blue and Gold Banquet will need to be rescheduled. A new date will be sent out via email.

Blue and Gold Banquet - Friday, February 23rd

The Blue and Gold Banquet is our annual birthday party for Cub Scouting. This is a family event with good food, awards, special guest speakers, and more!

This year our theme is "Aloha Cub Scouts".

During February, dens will be working together to make decorations for their den's table at the Blue and Gold, and as in the past, we will have a contest with awards for the best tables. Leaders and kids...use your imaginations: anything "Aloha"-related is fair game!

An invitation for the Blue and Gold will be emailed out shortly, and we will be asking you to RSVP through your den leader to get a head count for purchase of food. Table set-up will start at 6:15, dinner will begin at 6:30.

Dear Pack 11:

Thanks everybody for a great Blue and Gold Banquet! The table decorations were awesome! Thanks again to Richard Hennacy for the wonderful slide show. Thanks to Sharmini Shanker and all those who helped with the arrangements and food.

Thanks as well to Awards Chairperson Sally Meier who made purchased and organized all the awards.

Our wonderful and energetic volunteers are the backbone of our Pack!

FYI from Sharmini Shanker: Several of you had asked for information about Cuco's (the place who prepared the Blue and Gold mexican food). So....
